Hi, I'm Dane Mellino.
Originally from the lively state of Louisiana, I’ve found a new home in Dallas for the past three years. My journey with film photography started back in high school when I was just 15. With a random camera and a disposable, I was always ready to capture the world around me. These early experiences sparked a passion that has been growing for over a decade.
In 2021, I took a significant step forward in my photography journey by getting my first real camera. This moment marked a turning point, allowing me to dive deeper into the art and technique of photography. Since then, I’ve been dedicated to honing my skills and exploring new creative avenues.
My biggest inspiration comes from the people who surround me—my friends, my community, and the environment. There's something incredibly special about capturing genuine moments, the kind that bring you right back to that time and place whenever you look at them. This ability to freeze time and relive memories is what drives my passion for photography.
Whether it's a candid shot of a friend, a landscape, or a simple, everyday scene, I strive to capture the essence of the moment. Each photograph is a piece of a larger story, one that’s deeply personal yet universally relatable. It's this connection between the personal and the universal that I aim to highlight in my work.
Photography, for me, is not just about taking pictures—it's about creating a visual diary of life's fleeting moments. It’s about preserving the emotions, the atmosphere, and the beauty of a single moment in time. This passion for capturing and reliving moments is what keeps me inspired and continually fuels my creative journey.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me and my work. I’m excited to continue exploring the world through my lens and sharing those moments with you.
